What a wonderful weekend! Ryan surprised me with a trip to one of our favorite places - Siesta Key. It proved to be another great trip to this little beach village. As if it wasn't already memorable enough, it also turned out to be the site for a perfect proposal! :)
It truly was the perfect day. It started with breakfast at Sun Café and the famous Sweet Potato Pancakes, then off for the morning at the beach. Lunch was at SKOB, of course, and then shopping and strolling time. We then found a sandwich shop that sold Chicago Hot Dogs - so of course we tried out, and then headed for a Margartia at our new hangout - The Hub. We then decided it was time to go back to the beach for "the sunset". The reason for the quotes, is because by this time Hurricane Gustav was providing enough cloud cover that the sun was no longer visable. It was this fateful walk on the beach that Ryan asked me to marry him. I of course, said yes :) and that's when it turned comical. The first rain bands had made there way to the coast and we could only watch as they caught up with us on the beach. Having no where to run, we could only laugh as Mother Nature 'rained on our parade'. Once back in town, we joined the others at SKOB for the celebratory drink. It was perfect!
